Our partners
We work closely with a number of handpicked partners. These include Meløy
Adventure, Visit Nesna, Visit Helgeland, Fru Haugans Hotel, Lovund Hotel, Saltenfly
(airtaxi, sightseeing and charter), Klokkergården (the Sexton’s Residence) on Rødøya,
Myken Bord & Bar, and numerous other local companies. Each of them is quality-
minded and focuses on providing travellers with memorable adventures. You might
say our shared slogan is: “Do it for a day – talk about it forever!”
Our closest partners
When it comes to activities and adventure, our closest partner is Meløy Adventure,
which means Kristin Nordhus Karlsson and Øyvind Gjersvik, the founder and owner.
The inspiring growth of Meløy Adventure reflects Øyvind’s considerable knowledge
of our area, his passion and his deep ties to the majestic Helgeland coast. The
company employs guides from all over Norway and beyond who have varied and
extensive experience. These include:
Marius Løkken
After joining Øyvind for the 2020 season, Marius found it so satisfying that he has
continued his guiding for Meløy Adventure. Originally from Stavanger, a city on the
southwest coast, Marius loves Northern Norway. He is a trained Arctic Nature Guide
from Svalbard and can boast having skied the full length of Norway! He can often be
seen on the Svartisen glacier wearing crampons and with ice axe in hand, but is also
an avid SUP board and kayaking guide.
Dawid Edward Światłoczuły
When it comes to kayaking, Dawid is our main man. He is as cheerful as midsummer
sunlight and always has an amusing comment. An expert kayaker, he can do the
Eskimo roll on command. Originally from Poland, Dawid has lived in Norway for
several years. He has previously worked as a guide in both Geiranger area and in
Tromsø. He is an expert kayaking guide who is internationally certified as a Coastal
Kayak Trip Leader, Level 3.
Elida Langstein
Originally from Romsdalen in Western Norway, Elida is a biologist and a trained
Arctic Nature Guide. Previously she worked four years as a guide and captain on
Svalbard. Her impressive energy and desire for adventure have led her to spend the
deep winter in the demanding Alaskan interior. In recent years she has been based
in northern Norway and on the Finnmark plateau. You often meet Elida ploughing
the waves in a RIB sea raft – and she is more than happy to lead travellers on an
ascent of Rødøyløva.
Ronny Lauritz Berntsen
Ronny is a top athlete and definitely the guide you want for long expeditions and
challenging outdoor adventures. Originally from the southern village of Flekkefjord,
he prefers to live on Svalbard, Norway’s archipelago in the far north, where he
teaches others how to lead demanding expeditions. He feels very much at home
leading glacier treks across Svartisen, but you can also recruit him as a guide for
extended ski trips and kayaking adventures.
Ulrik Undahl
Ulrik has a bachelor’s degree in Outdoor Adventures. Originally from Fredrikstad in
Southeastern Norway, he is an eager mountain biker, kayaker and glacier trekker.
He’ll gladly guide you on an unforgettable kayak trip, or a glacier trek under the
midnight sun – with fun challenges along the way. Ulrik is convinced that people who
share the same passion play best! If you are into biking, kayaking and glacier trips,
you will want Ulrik along.
Kristin Nordhus Karlsson
Last but not least is Kristin, Meløy Adventure’s most experienced guide. She lives in
Mo i Rana, works as a psychiatric nurse and is the coordinator for the municipality’s
crisis team. In addition, she is an ambulance worker at Helgeland Hospital and a
certified first aid instructor.
Fortunately for us, Kristin also works as a kayaking guide. Insisting that outdoor
adventures require knowledge and should be safe and responsible, she holds
courses at expert as well as beginner levels. If you want to partake in new
challenges, you will definitely want to learn what Kristin has to share! She has broad
experience and wants you to master your chosen challenge. You will find this
supremely satisfying, and your new-found self confidence will inspire you in all of
life’s endeavours.
The two personal values that Kristin emphasises most in her work as a guide are
Respect and Openness. Naturally, she is a certified Sea-Kayaking Guide. Appreciating
all kinds of weather during every season including rough seas, Kristin enjoys kayaking
year round.
