Your adventure
If you’re in good shape and yearning for a challenge, consider a glacier trek on Svartisen. This is the second-largest glacier on the Norwegian mainland. The exotic beauty of the glacier and the surrounding scenery will take your breath away.
We start with a climb up Engabreen, one of the glacier arms of Svartisen. The reflection of Engabreen in the glacial lake below it is an unforgettable sight!
Equipped with ice axe, crampons and safety rope, our experienced guide ensures that everyone on the team has a safe and rewarding adventure. On this trek, you will encounter deep crevasses, see amazing ice formations and ice of many colours and shades. Good teamwork is vital, as is following the thorough instructions given by your guide. In addition to memories that are sure to last a lifetime, your reward will be a new sense of mastery.
Støtt is ideally situated for a visit to Svartisen. On this full-day excursion, your guide tell you how the glacier was formed, how massive ice has sculpted the landscape, and how climate change is impacting Svartisen and other glaciers. The guide will share many insights and stories about the glacier and the surrounding area.
Naturally our voyage starts at Støtt. We’ll speed across the waves in a RIB sea raft, dock in the harbour below Svartisen and hike up to the edge of the glacier – that’s where our real adventure begins!
We’ll either enjoy a packed lunch or dine at the nearby café.
