For many visitors, it is a dream come true to explore magnificent Helgeland on two wheels. The region’s impressive mountains and myriad of islands make for a unique holiday experience – especially when the largely pristine landscape is bathed in the light of the midnight sun. The island of Støtt should be a part of your cycling adventure!
What you will experience
A bike ride along the Helgeland coast offers a spectacular scenic adventure, with legendary mountains and towering peaks, friendly villages, sheltered coves and open ocean. The region has thousands of islands, large and small, flat and round, long or narrow. And when you want a break, the shoreline has sloping rock-faces, pebble beaches and sandy beaches, and sheltered coves ready to be discovered. In short, the Helgeland coast is a paradise for cycling enthusiasts.
Moreover, during the summer you can continue your voyage any time you please. The days are bright, and here, when it is night at more southerly latitudes, you will have the midnight sun or a glowing sky as your companion. When you explore Helgeland on two wheels, at your chosen pace, you will find yourself immersed in the landscape, experiencing the scenery more intensely, and having a far better opportunity to meet the locals. The tranquillity and silence enhances the strong sensory impressions.
Støtt is ideal for cycling. The lightly trafficked roads – and there are only eight or nine kilometres of road – make it attractive to take a circuit of the main island. It’s convenient to bring your bike on the express boat. If you haven’t brought your own bicycle, you’re welcome to rent one. We invite you to explore our beautiful beaches, coves with warm waters that are perfect for a swim, viewpoints that offer spectacular vistas, and bunkers and fortifications built by the Germans during their World War II occupation.

Price and cancellation
NOK 175 for three-hour rental of bike, helmet and equipment. NOK 300 for full-day rental.
