We invite you to experience the magnificent Meløy Alps, with the old trading post at Støtt as your holiday base. The Meløy Alps near Glomfjord have been portrayed in the skiing documentary “Supervention 2”. These jagged majestic mountains beckon you to summit climbs in one of Norway’s most scenic areas.

What you will experience

If you and your friends yearn for virgin snow in a pristine mountain wilderness, then this is the adventure for you! Our expert guide will take you to the best peaks, carefully choosing the descents that are best suited to your desires and skill set. From your base at Støtt Old Trading Post, we’ll take you to the foot of the Meløy Alps in a speedy RIB sea raft. That in itself is a memorable adventure!

It is surprisingly easy to get to the Støtt Old Trading Post and the Meløy Alps. From the time your flight departs from Oslo Gardermoen, the main airport of the Norwegian capital, the total travel time is only about three hours.

On any given day, your experienced guide will determine which peaks will provide exciting but safe skiing. The classic peaks Tverrfjell, Istinden, Ronsfjellet, Middagstuva, Tomskjelven and Hestmannan are varied, ranging in height from 571 to 1194 metres – and each in its own way is plenty demanding for off-piste downhill skiing! As mentioned, our particular routes will be carefully chosen to fit your skiing skills and experience.

When you stay at Støtt, you can see these majestic peaks that are all incredible ski areas within easy reach. Here you can experience our thriving island community, immerse yourself in the coastal culture and, après ski, hear stories from the golden heyday of Støtt Old Trading Post. Perhaps you might be tempted to an invigorating plunge in the sea from the quay?

We work closely with Meløy Adventure to offer activities and adventures that are perfectly tailored for you and your friends. We have extensive experience in creating excursions. Our vision is: do it for a day – talk about it forever!

You fly to Bodø and we’ll pick you up in a minibus or maxi-taxi at the airport and drive to the port. In the afternoon, the express boat will speed you across the open sea to Støtt Old Trading Post, situated 32 nautical miles south of Bodø.
