What you will experience
Our guided tour takes us to the southern part of the main island, and along a beautiful beach and shoreline where there is a lean-to, barbecue spots and good conditions for swimming. Støtt and its archipelago are probably far larger, more amazing and varied than you thought.
We start our tour at Restaurant Gammelbutikken. Our guide will lead us across a bridge to the interior of Støtt, and down Tjuvdalen valley towards the shore. On the way, we’ll stop at an exercise area in the hills. The guide will tell us about the nature reserve and the rare birds that nest there. Our walk continues past Gavelen; soon we’ll see Meløy, Gåsvær and the sea to the east. We reach the main road and follow it back. En route we pass idyllically situated cabins and houses of the islanders.
